Specialty Systems

An off-the-shelf design sometimes isn’t enough.  For special gas dehydration applications Van Gas Technologies offers custom natural gas dehydration equipment.   Van Gas Technologies has a complete staff of mechanical, process, and industrial engineers. With an in-house ASME code fabrication facility and extensive project management capabilities, Van Gas Technologies has the ability to build a natural gas dehydration package to meet virtually any application or specification.

Custom natural gas dehydration solutions from Van Gas Technologies have included:

  • Skid-mounted deliquescent gas dehydration systems to include
    • Gas Dehydration vessels
    • Gas coolers (air-to-air & liquid-to-gas)
    • Inlet coalescers & dry gas outlet filters
    • Instrumentation and controls
    • Loading platforms
  • Pressure swing adsorption (e.g. PSA or heatless) dryers
  • Temperature swing adsorption (e.g. TSA or heated) dryers
  • Liquid hydrocarbon dryers

Natural Gas Dehydration Solutions

Can deliquescent desiccants be used in place of a TEG dehydrator? It's a good question, one we hear often. Usually Van Gas Technologies natural gas dehydration solutions are applied to dry moderate to small volumes of fuel gas and instrument gas. However, when the pressure and temperature conditions are right, GasDry desiccants can be used in place of TEG dehydration. Sometimes a gas producer or processor's overwhelming concern is eliminating emissions from a TEG dehydrator. In these cases deliquescent desiccants may be an attractive alternative to a TEG dehydrator. A TEG dehydrator does not "turn down" well. This means that variable gas flow rates cause TEG dehydrators to perform poorly. Desiccant gas dehydration systems will dehydrate natural gas at volumes below full system design capacity without losing dehydration efficiency.
